New Tractor, New Rock Box
The rock box close to the cab on my outdated tractor would not work on the new 1. Steve Janikowski of C&S Farms near Wahpeton, North Dakota, made and constructed this one for me as a substitute. The expanded metal and matching form give it a manufacturing facility seem. It goes on the new entrance pounds bracket. A modest piece of 2×2-inch tubing welded in the corner accepts a pry bar and chain hook.

Momentary Calf Fence
My 9- to 10-7 days-old calfs really don’t have to have super sturdy fencing for transferring from small starting up pens to team pens in my calf barn. So I’ve commenced making use of plastic snow fence for momentary fencing in there. I just slice it to the length needed and use very simple brackets to attach it to the wall. It does not get up a great deal storage space when I roll it up and set it absent, both.

Heifer Kicks Magnet, Not the Handler
I use a cattle weigh tape to see if heifers are major adequate to breed. The wind blew the light-weight tape out of my fingers right up until I hooked up fender washers to 1 stop. Two ³∕16-inch washers are held with each other by a person 10-24×½-inch spherical head device screw and a lock nut. I can reach an extendable pocket magnet beneath the animal to pull the tape all over.

This Jig Holds Any Condition
Drained of wanting for Vise Grips and C-clamps for welding, I built a jig that demands no tools at all and retains items in spot. It operates on all designs of steel, also. A single of the ideal features is the opening beneath the iron being welded it no lengthier will get stuck to the welding table. When I’m ready to move to the other aspect, I just loosen the wing nut and flip it around.
